SDN/PSTN Switch Off
What is it and how will it affect my business?
The UK is in the process of shutting down the old ISDN and PSTN phone networks. These copper-based services have been around for decades, but they’re now being replaced with modern, internet-based systems. By the end of 2025, traditional landlines and many older broadband services will nolonger work.
So, what does this mean for your business?
In simple terms, any phone system or broadband connection that still relies on copper lines will needto move to newer digital alternatives. If you currently use ISDN phone lines, PSTN numbers, or olderbroadband products, you’ll need to upgrade to internet-based services like Hosted VoIP/SIP andnewer broadband options such as SoGEA or full fibre (FTTP).
